Éric Ménard’s Garage Transformation: A TV Set at Home
Éric Ménard’s garage transformation shows what a garage can become when it doubles as a workplace. The host of Le Show de Moto, a motorcycle series on Quebec’s RDS network since 2008, had his oversized garage in the Laurentians redone from the floor to the walls. It’s now where he keeps his bikes, works on them and films part of his show.
Why did Éric Ménard trust B.Protek with his garage?
When your career is built in front of a camera, you don’t hand your set to just anyone. Éric wanted a result he could show on screen for years without touch-ups. He also wanted one point of contact for the floor and the storage, instead of juggling several contractors.
The project was handled by the local franchise owner, an independent business owner who followed the job from start to finish. On a garage this size, having one person who knows the file inside out makes a real difference.
What changed in Éric Ménard’s garage?
The floor. The concrete was resurfaced with a polyaspartic coating with vinyl flakes. The speckled finish gives the room character and stands up to Canadian winters and the road salt that tires bring in. In a motorcycle garage, a floor that cleans up fast is worth a lot.
The cabinets. Tools, parts and cleaning products live behind closed doors, so the garage keeps its showroom look even in the middle of riding season.
The walls. Wall panels hold hooks, shelves and baskets that move whenever needs change. You’ll find every option on the Garage Organization page.

How does a garage become a TV set?
This is the most unusual part of the project. Le Show de Moto changes its backdrop from one shoot to the next, and Éric’s garage has to keep up. With the wall panels, he can rework the background in minutes: pull out a helmet, put one bike in the spotlight, then set everything back once the take is done.
The cabinets matter just as much. Anything that doesn’t belong on screen goes behind a door, and the eye goes straight to the bike or the guest.
The floor acts as the stage. An even surface with no cracks or oil stains looks good on camera, and it’s quick to clean between shoots.
Is a project like this only for big garages?
No. Éric’s garage is impressive in size, but the approach is the same for a single or double garage. The slab is assessed, the coating is chosen, and the storage is planned around how you actually use the space. A home mechanic’s workshop and a family garage full of bikes don’t have the same needs, and that’s exactly what the visit is for.

What could your garage look like?
It starts with a visit from your local franchise owner. It’s a real inspection: they look at your slab, take the time to understand how you use your garage and recommend the solution that fits. Residential garage floor coatings come with a warranty of up to 20 years, depending on the type of work.
